In the summer of 2013, visionary Chicago based developer Oxford Capital Group, LLC acquired the historic building and began a comprehensive redevelopment.  The Director of Operations at LondonHouse will directly oversee the rooms division, engineering, and security teams while being a support for the entire hotel to achieve both guest and internal guest satisfaction, deliver quality service while meeting/exceeding financial goals. This position is responsible for short and long term planning and day-to-day operations in the hotel.

 Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Human Resources in order to attract, retain and motivate the employees; hire, train, develop, empower, coach and counsel, resolve problems, provide open communication vehicles, discipline and terminate, as appropriate.
  • Develop, recommend, implement and manage the hotel’s training manuals, annual budget, business/marketing plan, forecasts and objectives to meet/ exceed management expectations.
  • Champion brand quality assurance inspection, be the lead for all departments regarding this important inspection.
  • Implement company programs (Oxford/Hilton), develop local programs and procedures and manage the operations of the property, ensuring compliance with SOPs, safety regulations and all other federal, state and local laws and regulations to ensure optimal levels of quality service and customer satisfaction.
  • Resolve guest complaints as appropriate to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction and quality.
  • Assist with development, implementation, and execution of capital projects.
  • Support rooms division, engineering, and security teams with day to day operations, employee interactions, and guest satisfaction.
  • Be part of union grievance process, assist Human Resources with union activity.
  • Implement emergency organization procedures and training through the management of the Security staff to establish appropriate protection for the hotel, staff and company asset.
  • Reports to and assumes the responsibilities of the General Manager in his/her absence.
  • Carry out all essential responsibilities under minimal supervision
  • Must have a clean and professional appearance.
  • Comply with LondonHouse/Oxford Hotels & Resorts and Standards of Conduct as set forth in the Team Member Handbook.
  • Be flexible to handle other duties as assigned.


Education & Experience:

  • Progressive experience in hotel operations required
  • Hilton Brand experience preferred
  • Union experience preferred
  • A four-year college degree or equivalent education/experience
  • Available to work weekends, evenings and/or holidays
  • Must be able to walk, stand for prolonged periods as needed
  • Must be able to push, pull and lift 50 lbs.
